Job Requirements
- Completion of formal or informal education ensuring literacy and communication skills
- experience in custodial or building cleaning work
- possession of a valid California Class C drivers license
- ability to safely operate power-driven equipment
- capacity to lift and carry loads up to 50 pounds
- willingness to work night shift hours
- pass complete physical examination
- ability to adhere to safety protocols
- availability to perform duties across multiple campus locations
Job Qualifications
- Completion of education to read write and speak English proficiently
- experience in building or related cleaning work
- ability to read write and speak English
- understand and execute oral and written instructions
- exercise judgment independently
- operate custodial power equipment safely
- perform physical labor including lifting up to 50 pounds
- work safely at heights using scaffolding and ladders
- knowledge of safe cleaning methods and hazardous material disposal
- ability to use computers and related technology
- pass physical examination prior to appointment
Job Duties
- Sweep scrub mop wash polish strip and wax various floors using power machines
- operate hot water pressure cleaner for floor surfaces
- burnish restripe and refinish hardwood floors
- scrub baseboards and walls vacuum shampoo and spot-clean carpeting
- dust wash and polish furniture woodwork and windows
- clean and maintain restrooms locker rooms cafeterias and offices
- empty waste receptacles and clean drinking fountains
- replenish supplies and deliver supplies furniture and equipment
- secure buildings by turning out lights locking doors setting alarms
- use tools to move set up and dismantle staging seating and equipment
- operate manual sprayers for insecticides
- assemble and move furnishings including heavy items
- operate district vehicles including trucks vans forklifts
- work on scaffolding and ladders to clean windows and vents
- test new products and report on results
- use cleaning chemicals and pesticides safely
- carry portable communication devices and respond to duties
- report vandalism illegal entry or fire hazards
- participate in setup and cleanup of events
- input work orders and substitute at other locations
- lift and move heavy objects
- replace carpet tiles and repair furniture
- assist with property inventories
- train new custodians
- perform other related duties as assigned
