Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- complete training in safety data sheets SDS and blood-borne pathogens within two months of hire
- ability to lift or carry burdens weighing up to 50 lbs and push or pull burdens weighing up to 100 lbs
- ability to work scheduled schoolwork hours and days
- ability to perform physically demanding tasks including climbing stooping kneeling bending crouching crawling twisting and reaching
- ability to work extended schoolwork hours and days as directed
- willingness to perform crossing guard duties as directed
- ability to work indoors and outdoors on school building grounds
- ability to operate standard custodial equipment and mechanized cleaning equipment
- ability to maintain confidentiality

Job Duties
- clean the facilities including trash removal floor cleaning general cleaning and sanitizing
- set up for special events
- develop and promote good relations among staff and community
- report consistently for work as scheduled
- perform other duties as assigned
- attain proficient or higher evaluations on established performance standards
- assist in cafeteria and other areas during the workday assignment as directed
- assist students and staff with minor repairs and items such as lockers doors desks lights
- assist with safety drills scenarios and real-life situations as needed and directed
- attend training and in-service meetings
- clean hazards including bodily fluids spills per best practices and current regulations
- clean dust and straighten desks counters toilets sinks whiteboards cove bases blinds walls furniture vents windows mirrors carpet floors and other items as needed and assigned
- ensure facilities are safe and operational for students staff and the community
- monitor water electrical sewer HVAC and assist in emergency shut off as needed
- move relocate and transport materials furniture and equipment as needed and assigned
- mow lawns and trim and edge around walks and structures as directed
- perform duties associated with building upkeep including painting and other non-routine maintenance tasks
- perform crossing guard duties as directed
- process and complete internal work requests
- remove and dispose of trash in facilities and on grounds
- remove snow and ice
- report minor and major building and facility-related discrepancies or areas of need
- sanitize rooms and facilities including restrooms water fountains gymnasiums pools and locker rooms
- vacuum shampoo sweep strip buff dust mop floors and stairs as needed
