Job Requirements
- Ability to understand and carry out simple oral and written directions
- Ability to read, write, understand and communicate sufficiently to perform the essential functions of the position
- Physical ability to push, pull, lift, and carry at least 40 lbs
- Willingness to work around children and respond to multiple demands
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and environments
- Willingness to follow all district policies and regulations
Job Qualifications
- Ability to understand and carry out simple oral and written directions
- Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate sufficiently to perform essential functions
- Experience in cleaning and operating equipment such as autoscrubbers, vacuums, buffers, leaf blowers, and hand tools
- Knowledge of mixing cleaning chemicals and reading warning labels
- Knowledge of minor repair techniques and maintenance
- Knowledge of recycling and composting waste materials
- Understanding of established safety procedures and applicable laws
- Skill in working collaboratively within a team
Job Duties
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of campus building areas including bathrooms, hallways, classrooms, offices, athletic areas, cafeterias, and stages
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of outdoor campus areas such as porches, overhangs, and walkways up to 50 feet
- Perform general cleaning tasks including mopping, sweeping, vacuuming floors, emptying wastebaskets, dusting furniture, cleaning windows, and replenishing dispensers
- Set up, clean, and manage cafeteria tables and chairs before, during, and after lunch
- Respond to emergency cleaning calls as required
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment safely, report malfunctions
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance such as fixing desks, plumbing, changing light bulbs, and assembling furniture
- Move and arrange furniture for special activities including set up and tear down
- Assist in opening building each school day and manage keys and security procedures
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and request additional items as needed
- Adhere to work hours and schedules
- Follow policies, laws, and code of conduct
- Perform other assigned duties
