Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- special Boilers Operator License required
- valid Minnesota driver's license
- 1-2 years custodial experience in a school setting
- ability to work with minimal supervision
- exceptional customer service skills
- excellent communication skills
- ability to work effectively with others and utilize team-building skills
- basic understanding and safe use of motorized cleaning equipment
- willingness to use backpack vacuum
- physically able to lift over 50 pounds and work at heights up to 30 feet
- ability to work in moderately hazardous indoor and outdoor conditions
- willingness to learn and share improved cleaning methods
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 1-2 years custodial experience in a school setting
- exceptional customer service skills
- excellent communication skills
- ability to work effectively with others and utilize effective team-building skills
- basic understanding of upkeep, care and safe operation of motorized cleaning equipment such as auto scrubber, buffer, snow blower, tractor, genie lift, pressure washer, extractors, sweeper, and Kaivac
- willingness to learn and share new and better cleaning methods
- ability to use a backpack vacuum for cleaning
Job Duties
- Complies with all School District and OSHA policies
- takes charge of Custodian Lead responsibilities when the Lead is not on site
- makes minor repairs on building, equipment and grounds
- completes all duties listed on the daily schedule and maintains daily upkeep of assigned area and equipment
- performs janitorial duties including vacuuming, mopping, washing tables and windows, cleaning bathrooms, dusting, waxing, stripping floors and moving heavy furniture
- organizes and cleans assigned custodial closet
- ensures building and property security during shift and reports incidents and hazardous conditions
- operates motorized cleaning and snow removal equipment
- removes snow and ice and applies snow melt for safety
- moves up to 50 pounds of project materials and tools to remote locations
- stands on ladders and platforms at heights up to 30 feet for extended periods
- performs essential building and equipment maintenance involving physical tasks
- works under supervision of Lead Custodian, Building Principal, site Supervisor and Coordinator of Facility Services
- performs other duties as assigned within level of responsibility
