Job Requirements
- Must possess a valid Texas driver license or obtain within 90 days of hire
- Eligible driving record required
- Pass fingerprint criminal background check
- Pre-employment drug screening
- Registry checks including Client Abuse/Neglect Reporting System, Nurse Aide, Medication Aide and Employee Misconduct lists
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Males aged 18-25 must be registered with Selective Service
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk on hard floors for extended periods
- Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as required
Job Qualifications
- Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent
- Paid work experience in any field or unpaid housekeeping/custodial service experience
- Six months of custodial or environmental services experience preferred
- Skill in use of custodial equipment and safe handling of chemicals
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions
- Ability to train others
- Ability to supervise the work of others
- Ability to work harmoniously with co-workers and residents
- Ability to work irregular hours
Job Duties
- Performs custodial functions timely and with high quality including sweeping, mopping, dusting and cleaning windows and light fixtures
- Ensures proper sanitization and disinfection in accordance with training received
- Cleans and maintains floor care, restroom care, bedroom care, nurses’ station and isolation areas
- Maintains and cleans interior and exterior of assigned buildings
- Reports needed repairs
- Empties trash and replenishes supplies as needed
- Trains and coaches other custodians and provides documentation of training
- Inspects assigned buildings for cleanliness, completed work and needed minor repairs and performs minor maintenance
- Completes documentation accurately and timely
- Helps residents maintain optimal health and provides a safe environment
- Participates in disaster response or continuity of operations activation as needed
