Job Description
The Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) Division of Facilities Management - Southern District is dedicated to planning, designing, constructing, operating, maintaining, and managing facilities and campuses throughout the southern region of Colorado. This division plays a critical role in supporting the CDHS mission by ensuring safe, sanitary, and effective environments for clients, youth, residents, consumers, and staff across multiple facilities. Job Requirements
- colorado state residency
- high school diploma or equivalent
- experience in cleaning and custodial work
- ability to work full-time in person
- availability for shift work and call-back
- valid colorado driver’s license
- ability to meet regulatory cleaning standards including jcaho
- physical ability to perform manual labor
- willingness to work in various facilities and under different conditions
- compliance with state and agency policies
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent
- experience in custodial or janitorial services preferred
- knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment
- ability to follow safety and regulatory standards
- good physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor
- valid driver’s license with the ability to operate state vehicles
- effective communication skills
- ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Job Duties
- perform daily cleaning and sanitizing of assigned work areas using appropriate disinfectants and equipment
- drive state vehicles between agency sites to deliver custodial services
- conduct detailed cleaning of walls, windows, fixtures, and furnishings
- perform weekly project floor work including buffing, scrubbing, waxing, and carpet cleaning
- collect and dispose of trash and biohazard waste responsibly
- assist with moving furniture, appliances, and equipment as needed
- maintain janitorial supplies, equipment, and chemical labeling
- assist with snow removal when necessary
- respond to call backs for essential or emergency services
