Job Requirements
- Must have three months of cleaning experience
- must be a resident of Colorado at the time of application and throughout employment
- must possess a valid, non-restricted Colorado driver’s license or obtain one within 30 days of employment
- must be willing to submit and pass a full background check including criminal history
- must pass a physical exam including lift and range of motion test
- must successfully pass a Tuberculosis test
- must be willing to receive an annual influenza vaccination or provide exemption documentation
- must be available for shift work and call backs
- must be willing to travel within assigned region using state vehicles
- must be able to work at assigned location during scheduled work times
- must consent to hold harmless CDHS from liabilities related to physical exam and background check
- must disclose prior disciplinary termination or resignation for disciplinary reasons if applicable
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- three months of cleaning experience required
- ability to maintain a set cleaning schedule
- knowledge of project floor work such as buffing and waxing
- ability to maintain cleaning supplies inventory and order new supplies
- ability to identify and thoroughly clean problematic facility areas
- experience in cleaning and maintaining facilities such as educational institutions, hospitals, or long-term care facilities preferred
- experience with mental health or locked adolescent populations preferred
- relevant years of State service preferred to determine top candidates
Job Duties
- Performs daily cleaning, sanitizing, and servicing of assigned work areas as per schedules and procedures by use of appropriate disinfectant cleaners, chemicals and equipment consisting of sweeping, dust mopping, wet mopping, vacuuming, restroom cleaning, and other duties as assigned
- drives State vehicles from agency to agency for which services are provided
- performs daily detailed cleaning including washing walls, doors, frames, sills, windows, baseboards, fixtures, furnishings, ceilings, vents, and light fixtures
- performs weekly project floor work including buffing, scrubbing, stripping, waxing, and sealing of hard floor surfaces and spot cleaning, shampooing, and extracting of carpeted floors
- collects and disposes of trash and biohazard waste properly
- moves furniture, appliances, equipment, supplies manually and with equipment to facilitate cleaning
- assists in snow removal when needed
- cleans and services equipment, maintains janitorial closet and supplies, including chemical labeling
- performs other duties as assigned or required
