Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Six months of previous experience and/or training involving custodial work
- Valid Arizona Driver's License
- Ability to work flexible hours including afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Physical ability to perform heavy work duties
- Availability to work in person at various park locations
- Must be able to operate power equipment safely and responsibly
Job Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
- Six months previous experience and/or training involving custodial work
- Valid Arizona Driver's License
- Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, codes, regulations, and ordinances
- Ability to operate power tools and equipment such as deck mowers, utility vehicles, tractors, chainsaws, stump grinders, augers, jackhammers, and hedge trimmers
- Basic computer skills and ability to use phone applications
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Good physical stamina for heavy work tasks
Job Duties
- Performs routine maintenance, cleaning, and preparation of equipment, park spaces, athletic fields, courts, and other related areas including trash and debris removal, graffiti removal, and litter pick up
- Operates equipment, machinery, and/or tools for maintenance and support of assigned areas including specialized athletic field preparation
- Sets up, monitors, and inspects assigned areas, facilities, or equipment, identifies problems and necessary repairs, performs basic repair and maintenance on park structures, irrigation systems, athletic fields, landscaping, and open spaces
- Monitors inventory levels of equipment, supplies, and materials, determines supplies needed and stocks or distributes supply items
- Works flexible shifts including afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays to cover staffing needs
- Collaborates with team members and reports directly to Parks Field Supervisor
- Ensures safety protocols and standards, including National Fire Protection Association standards, are followed in daily tasks
