Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- related job experience
- valid California driver license
- experience operating buffers, vacuums, carpet machines, and floor strippers
- ability to follow detailed instructions
- ability to handle routine cleaning and maintenance tasks
- ability to perform physical labor
- availability to respond to urgent custodial needs
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or job-related experience
- entry-level reasoning skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions
- ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- entry-level mathematical skills including ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
- ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and interpret bar graphs
- experience operating buffers, vacuums, carpet machines, and floor strippers
Job Duties
- Empty trash cans
- clean bathrooms
- vacuum carpets
- sweep and buff floors
- dust
- rearrange furniture and materials in offices and other rooms as necessary
- provide top level customer service to faculty, staff, and students
- perform high dusting
- clean windows
- restock paper towel and toilet paper dispensers
- spot clean spills
- carry out localized pest control such as putting out ant traps and ensuring food is unavailable
- deep clean offices
- power wash exterior of buildings and walkways
- respond to urgent or immediate custodial needs outside of routine duties
- strip and wax floors
- shampoo carpets
- refinish and seal floors
