Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- maximum two years of experience in the custodian series or related experience
- ability to follow instructions and operate cleaning equipment
- willingness to work evenings and overtime as needed
- ability to handle physical labor and repetitive tasks
- attention to detail in cleanliness and safety
- ability to comply with safety standards and use personal protective equipment
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent
- ability to operate custodial tools and equipment
- knowledge of cleaning products and sanitation practices
- experience in custodial or janitorial roles preferred
- ability to work independently and follow established procedures
- good communication and teamwork skills
- physical ability to perform manual cleaning tasks
Job Duties
- fulfill cleaning standards in assigned areas including vacuuming carpets, cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, and trash removal
- perform deep cleaning projects such as carpet restoration, floor waxing and scrubbing, and wall washing
- assist other physical plant and custodial staff as assigned
- maintain building exterior cleanliness and manage snow and ice removal around entryways
- apply ice melt and place slip protection and signage on wet floors
- use universal precautions and sanitation procedures when handling bodily fluids
- adhere to safety protocols and established cleaning guidelines
