Job Requirements

Age 16 or older
High school diploma or equivalent
Job related experience is required
Criminal justice fingerprint/background clearance
Ability to lift up to 80 pounds
Ability to push/pull up to 150 pounds
Available to work an 8 hour day on a 250 day contract
Non-exempt status
Ability to follow safety guidelines and protocols

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
Previous custodial or maintenance experience preferred
Ability to manage staff and supervise tasks
Knowledge of safety protocols and emergency procedures
Basic maintenance and repair skills
Good communication skills
Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting heavy objects
Experience using cleaning equipment and supplies
Capability to manage budgets and inventory

Job Duties

Assists with site snow removal for the purpose of ensuring access and safety to students, staff and visitors
Cleans assigned facilities and/or grounds for the purpose of maintaining a sanitary, safe, and attractive environment
Conducts and/or participates in various safety and emergency training drills with students and staff
Consults with administrative personnel to plan, prioritize, and schedule custodial activities and objectives
Delivers supplies, mail, packages, and furniture to appropriate parties within the site
Distributes custodial supplies and equipment to staff and storage locations
Provides information and direction regarding activities, safety issues, and maintenance to site personnel
Inspects facilities and components (fire suppression equipment, boilers, playground equipment) for safety and maintenance needs
Lifts up to 80 pounds and may push/pull up to 150 pounds for maintenance and safety
Maintains custodial supplies and equipment for availability
Manages budgets related to cleaning supplies and maintenance expenses
Monitors work areas for potential safety hazards
Oversees facility maintenance activities and assigned custodial personnel
Schedules and supervises custodial staff for safe and efficient site upkeep
Participates in personnel decision-making including hiring and dismissal procedures
Performs routine maintenance on boilers, water heaters, and cooling towers
Performs minor repairs and maintenance on custodial equipment, furniture, and fixtures
Performs grounds keeping functions such as weeding, mowing, edging, and pruning
Prepares written documentation like supply requisitions and safety inspections
Readies site for daily operations including opening gates and sweeping walkways
Replenishes classroom and restroom supplies
Responds to safety and operational concerns during and after hours
Secures facilities and grounds by locking doors, gates, and setting alarms
Trains assigned personnel in professional trade and safety skills
Transports tools, equipment, and supplies for job sites
