Job Requirements
- completion of eighth grade or equivalent
- valid Florida Driver's License
- ability to pass Department of Transportation requirements
- ability to stand for long hours
- physical ability to lift and carry objects weighing between 20 and 100 pounds
- ability to work indoors and outdoors
- ability to handle cleaning solvents and chemicals safely
- willingness to follow safety protocols and use personal protective equipment
- ability to perform manual labor duties
- ability to coordinate work tasks and meet deadlines
Job Qualifications
- completion of eighth grade or equivalent combination of training and experience
- ability to understand and follow instructions
- knowledge of custodial methods and equipment
- knowledge of grounds maintenance equipment and landscape processes
- ability to work continuous hours while standing
- ability to learn routine custodial and grounds duties
- bilingual/biliterate preferred
- valid Florida Driver's License and ability to pass Department of Transportation requirements for County mowing teams
Job Duties
- empties trash containers and other receptacles
- dusts ledges, furniture, lights, etc
- replaces spent light bulbs, strips, cleans, burnishes, and applies finish to hard surface floors
- vacuums and shampoos carpets
- cleans and disinfects drinking fountains
- assists in maintenance of clean, safe and sanitary toilets, shower and dining room facilities
- refills restroom dispensers
- washes walls, windows, and glass surfaces
- performs grounds maintenance tasks including grass mowing, edging, weed and tree trimming
- uses various cleaning and groundskeeping tools and equipment as directed
- assists parts room personnel in stacking crates and boxes
- helps set up facilities for meetings, classrooms, and events
- completes required DOT and District paperwork accurately
