Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- at least one year of custodial experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience
- ability to pass a background check
- valid driver’s license and insurability preferred
- ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- ability to perform physical tasks including bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, reaching, and walking
- ability to operate cleaning machinery and college vehicles
- flexibility to work in emergency situations
- dependable attendance
Job Qualifications

- ability to safely operate standard cleaning equipment such as buffers, wet/dry vacuums, and steam cleaners
- skill in performing manual cleaning tasks including mopping, sweeping, and window washing
- ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- ability to bend, stoop, kneel, climb, push, pull, reach, and walk
- ability to drive college vehicles and operate automated self-propelled floor care equipment
- ability to use hand and power tools
- ability to work independently and within a team
- ability to read and understand Material Safety Data Sheets and follow written instructions
- effective verbal and written communication skills
- proficiency in using a personal computer
- ability to work effectively with diverse cultures and ethnicities
Job Duties
- Clean and disinfect lavatory facilities
- perform routine floor care duties such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, stripping, waxing, and steam-cleaning carpeted areas
- clean drapes, windows, walls, and other washable surfaces as needed
- remove refuse from classrooms, offices, or other college areas and place in proper containers
- re-stock lavatories and supply closets
- maintain proper cleaning and storage of tools and equipment
- perform facility use set-ups and general maintenance duties
