Job Requirements
- Work performed mostly indoors with some outdoor work
- outdoor work subject to temperature extremes and inclement weather
- work hours subject to change with overtime, nights, weekends, and/or holidays as needed
- exposed to hazards including diseases, cuts, bruises, burns, dust, odors, and noise
- tasks may be performed on uneven and elevated surfaces, using ladders
- employee must occasionally stand or walk for long periods, use hands and fingers, reach, climb stairs and ladders, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, taste, or smell
- must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds
- must have specific close vision abilities
- must have general knowledge of hand and power tools
- must have excellent oral and written communication skills
- must have excellent organizational skills
- must have mature judgment with ability to work independently
- must be a U.S. citizen
- must hold a valid state driver’s license with an excellent driving record
- must be able to pass a background investigation
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- at least 2 years of janitorial experience preferred
- excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- excellent organizational skills
- mature judgment and ability to work with little or no supervision
- general knowledge of hand and power tools
Job Duties
- Able to do a variety of tasks in any single day
- plan, organize work, and meet all deadlines
- clean and sanitize restroom facilities and related fixtures including drinking fountains, water coolers, mop sinks, sinks, urinals, and toilets
- replenish supplies in restrooms
- sweep, vacuum, mop, wax, strip and polish floors and equipment
- maintain dusting of high and low areas and polish furniture, woodwork, fixtures, and equipment
- wash windows (interior and exterior), mirrors, and walls, sometimes using ladders
- clean and polish tables and chairs
- empty, clean, and sanitize waste receptacles
- move and arrange furniture and equipment for cleaning and replace when completed
- clean window blinds (Venetian or vertical)
- identify and report building maintenance needs
- perform specialized restoration projects on floors, walls, ceilings, and furniture
- perform other duties as assigned
- timely and cost-effective performance of duties
- timely completion and accuracy of all work
- adhere to contract requirements and company policies
- work closely and harmoniously with coworkers
- adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations
- timely report accidents, injuries, near-misses, and hazardous situations
