Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or graduation equivalent preferred
  • One year or more of experience preferred
  • Valid driver's license preferred

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • One year or more of related experience preferred
  • Ability to operate large powered vacuum cleaners and cleaning equipment
  • Ability to label cleaning materials and disinfecting solutions
  • Ability to interact respectfully with faculty, students, staff, and visitors
  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to move about campus continuously
  • Valid driver's license preferred

Job Duties

  • Cleans, sweeps, vacuums, and polishes floors
  • Uses various tools, equipment, and cleaning materials including hand and power scrubbing and polishing equipment, vacuums, buffers, brooms, dust brushes, dust pans, mops, mop wringers, special cleaning solutions, and chemical cleaners
  • Cleans assigned areas with required cleaners and disinfecting solutions
  • Cleans walls, windows, window blinds, ceilings, and doors
  • Works from ladders or scaffolding when needed
  • Replenishes towels, soap, toilet tissue, linen, and other supplies
  • Inspects buildings for service issues and reports damages and needed repairs to supervisors
  • Removes trash and recyclable materials, maintaining appropriate separation
  • Moves furniture, equipment, supplies, and recyclable materials
  • Transports biohazard containers to designated areas
  • Removes snow, ice, and debris from building entrances and sidewalks
  • Maintains equipment and work areas in clean and orderly condition
  • Observes safety precautions and properly uses equipment and products
  • Sets up and removes furniture and supplies for meetings and special events
  • Performs other duties as assigned
