Job Requirements
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred
- Prior custodial experience required
- Must be able to operate floor maintenance equipment, snow blower, lawn mower, trimmer, and all cleaning equipment
- Ability to read, write, and understand simple instructions and short correspondences in English
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally
- Exercise confidentiality, discretion, and good judgment
- Adhere to assigned work schedule by maintaining regular and punctual attendance
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and climb ladders up to 20 feet
- Willingness to work evening shifts Monday through Friday
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, bending, and manipulating tools
- Ability to handle multiple competing demands simultaneously
Job Qualifications

- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
- Ability to lead and supervise other custodians or substitute custodians
Job Duties
- Assist in all receiving and delivery operations
- Develop positive, effective working relationships with learners and staff
- Communicate to substitute custodians of duties each shift and follow-up to ensure work completion
- Communicate with building administrators about cleaning, maintenance matters, and employee concerns
- Provide training to new custodial staff and substitute custodians via job shadowing
- Provide building security by reporting damages and ensuring doors are locked
- Document and report safety hazards and potential security issues
- Direct, coordinate, and oversee the work of the building custodial staff
- Maintain upkeep of floors and floor surface finishes
- Clean and maintain furniture, equipment, and fixtures
- Collect and dispose of wastepaper and debris according to policy
- Maintain bathrooms, locker, and shower rooms by cleaning, disinfecting, and restocking
- Replace light bulbs as needed
- Maintain safety and appearance of grounds by trash removal, snow and ice removal, mowing, and trimming
- Keep equipment in safe operating condition by following manufacturer guidelines
- Move furniture, supplies, and equipment as directed
- Ensure safe and secure environment of furnishings, supplies, grounds, and building interior and exterior
