Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- ability to lift up to 50 pounds and carry up to 25 pounds
- physical capability to perform tasks involving standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, climbing stairs, repetitive motion, and manual dexterity
- visual acuity, speech, and hearing adequate for the position
- willingness to work Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, including some holidays and weekends
- ability to work in secure facilities
- passing criminal, driving, and employment background checks
- flexibility in work schedule to meet departmental needs
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred but not required
- ability to operate cleaning machines and equipment
- knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
- capability to follow detailed instructions and complete tasks independently
- good communication skills
- ability to work flexible hours as needed
Job Duties
- Perform general cleaning including sweeping, mopping, dusting, scrubbing, and vacuuming
- empty waste baskets and recycling containers
- clean walls, windows, light fixtures, and air supply or return registers
- clean and disinfect restrooms including fixtures, mirrors, equipment, windows, floors, and walls
- replenish restroom supplies and unclog sinks and toilets
- operate buffer, stripper, waxer, vacuum, and carpet cleaning machines
- secure and lock buildings
- turn out lights in completed areas
- replace light bulbs and other similar items
- move office furniture and other items as required
- assist groundskeeper in yard work
- perform other job-related duties as assigned
