Job Duties
- Maintain a cleaning schedule including floors, chalkboards, wastebaskets, windows, furniture, equipment, and restrooms
- keep school buildings and grounds neat and clean including sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, and play areas
- comply with local laws and procedures for storage and disposal of trash
- assist in maintaining an inventory of cleaning supplies and request additional supplies as needed
- assist with lunchroom set up including arranging tables and chairs
- perform preventive maintenance and make minor building repairs and report major repairs
- regulate heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to ensure appropriate temperatures and economical usage
- move furniture or equipment as directed
- assist in setting up facilities for special events
- assist with opening and closing building each school day ensuring exit doors and panic bolts work properly
- inspect machines and equipment for safety and efficiency
- follow established safety procedures and operate tools and equipment safely
- correct unsafe conditions and report non-correctable hazards
- follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures
