Job Requirements
- Ability to perform repeated bending, stooping, lifting, reaching activities such as pushing/pulling fully loaded custodial carts, reaching to clean blackboards, bending and stooping to do spot cleaning, empty trash cans
- Ability to read, speak, and understand at a level appropriate to the position
- Valid California driver’s license preferred
- Commitment to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Ability to contribute to a positive university experience
- Must successfully complete background check including criminal records check
- Ability to work 40 hours per week, full-time temporary role
Job Qualifications
- Solid work history
- Experience working in a university or large institution preferred
- Good interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to operate power cleaning equipment
- Ability to organize work assignments and custodial closets
- Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community
Job Duties
- Maintains neat and clean facilities for faculty, staff, and visitors
- Removes trash/recycle paper, cardboard and various materials
- Maintains facility safety procedures and security measures
- Positive interaction and communication of custodial activities
- Maintains and operates vacuums, wet/dry vacuums, buffers, auto scrubbers, blowers, etc. for maintaining carpets, tile floors, and exterior areas
