Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be willing and able to successfully complete the required Health and Safety training curriculum within a specified time frame
  • Verbal communications skills needed to deal with the building users and with fellow employees
  • Written communication skills needed to leave correspondence with the day employees if problems arise or repairs are needed
  • Basic skills to be able to determine dilution ratios, converting ounces to gallons, etc
  • The ability to estimate time required to perform certain tasks as personnel are taken away from routine assignments to do special set-ups
  • The ability to determine if requests can be accomplished by the evening staff on the spot or need to be deferred to a later time
  • Be able to reason with building users when they need something, to enhance the public relations of the district
  • This position requires regular and prompt attendance to ensure the readiness of the school building for student learning

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to perform intermediate semiskilled trades cleaning work
  • Basic math skills including measurement conversions
  • Ability to reason with building users to enhance public relations
  • Experience in custodial or maintenance work preferred
  • Ability to work second shift hours

Job Duties

  • Perform cleaning and maintenance of school building interiors and exteriors
  • Participate in operations and facility security
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary environment for staff, students, and the public
  • Communicate effectively with building users and day shift employees
  • Determine dilution ratios and convert measurements for cleaning tasks
  • Estimate time needed for special setup tasks and manage requests
  • Ensure regular and prompt attendance for readiness of the school building
