Job Requirements

- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Effective presentation of information in one-to-one and small group situations
- Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and multiply and divide with tens and hundreds mentally
- Use email, website and time clock software proficiently
- Operate forklift, electric stacker, pallet jack, cardboard baler, compactor, hand truck, and equipment carts
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent certificate
- Adhere to scheduled shifts and wear proper clothing including apron and nametag, closed-toe shoes and shirt with sleeves
- Abide by all Co-op policies and procedures as set forth in employee handbook
- Be available to work flexible hours based on business needs

- Proficient use of email, website and time clock software
- Operate forklift, electric stacker, pallet jack, cardboard baler, compactor, hand truck and equipment carts
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent certificate
- Desired: additional customer service experience in high-traffic retail or service environment
- Demonstrated ability to handle diverse customer interactions with patience and professionalism
- Experience with a wide range of cleaning techniques and maintenance equipment
- Certification in use of specific cleaning chemicals and safety protocols
- Familiarity with building maintenance software and digital tracking tools
- Ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical issues
- Proven ability to identify and resolve facility-related issues proactively
- Experience in developing cleaning schedules and procedures
- History of maintaining exceptionally high cleanliness and order standards
- Experience in unionized work environments
- Strong team collaboration skills
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules including emergency cleaning tasks
- Experience setting up and cleaning for large events
Job Duties
- Exceed customers expectations for service and provide a welcoming environment in accordance with the Co-op’s customer service standards
- Maintain cleanliness of all areas of the Co-op
- Greet customers and provide friendly, helpful, courteous, and prompt customer service
- Refer customers to appropriate staff persons when unable to provide service
- Direct customers to product and product information locations in the store upon request
- Keep the store sales floor orderly and clean by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming
- Gather and empty trash from all receptacles
- Service, clean, and supply restrooms
- Clean and polish furniture and fixtures
- Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors
- Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment
- Steam clean or shampoo carpets
- Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment
- Move furniture, equipment, and supplies manually or by using carts
- Maintain cleanliness of outside areas by power washing and clearing debris
- Notify appropriate managers concerning repairs or malfunctions
- Requisition supplies and equipment for cleaning and maintenance duties
- Set up and remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding for events
- Maintain knowledge of product and stock locations
- Check prices, clean spills, and perform housekeeping duties
- Re-stock unsold products and return carts and recyclable containers
- Bale cardboard and keep refuse area tidy and organized
- Ensure mop rooms are clean
- Perform light maintenance duties
- Available to work hours based on business needs
- Adhere to scheduled shifts and wear proper attire
- Abide by Co-op policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
