Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Over six months in a related field
- Must possess a valid state driver’s license
- Ability to perform medium physical work involving walking, standing, stooping, reaching, stretching, pushing, pulling, or lifting between 20 and 50 pounds
- Ability to follow supervisors’ instructions and company policies
- Basic proficiency using a computer for work-related tasks
- Commitment to maintain safety and cleanliness standards
- Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions that may include exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, noise, and temperature extremes
- Ability to read and write simple sentences
- Good judgment and ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately
Job Qualifications

- Over six months of experience in a related custodial or maintenance field
- Ability to operate custodial equipment like vacuum cleaners and buffers
- Basic computer skills to record work hours and request time off
- Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and safety standards
- Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision
- Good communication skills for professional interaction with staff and public
- Physical ability to perform medium work involving lifting, stooping, and standing for extended periods
- Valid state driver’s license
Job Duties
- Performs a variety of custodial duties including cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, washing windows and glass surfaces, dusting and polishing furniture, wiping down walls, cleaning window blinds, dusting baseboards, removing trash, emptying recycling containers, sweeping and mopping floors, scrubbing and polishing floors, stripping and waxing floors, vacuuming, spot cleaning, or shampooing carpets
- Stocks restrooms with necessary supplies
- Sweeps porches, walkways, and breezeways
- Performs light building maintenance such as replacing light bulbs and arranging furniture
- May transport trash, supplies, or equipment between county buildings
- Maintains assigned vehicles and equipment and initiates repair requests
- Requests necessary tools, materials, and supplies
- Responds to emergency calls for assistance
- Operates custodial vehicles and equipment like vacuum cleaners, carpet cleaners, and buffers
- Keeps accurate and up-to-date records of work performed
- Ensures all tasks comply with county policies, procedures, and cleanliness standards
- Attends training, workshops, and meetings to enhance job knowledge and skills
- Interacts professionally with staff and the public to create a welcoming environment
