- three years' experience in custodial work
- ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- physical capability to lift heavy objects and climb ladders
- strong safety awareness
- reliable and adaptable to changing tasks
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency preferred
- minimum three years’ experience in all types of custodial work
- ability to communicate effectively with staff at various levels
- capable of following verbal and written instructions
- able to perform assigned tasks with minimal supervision
- physically capable of lifting over fifty pounds
- able to climb ladders up to 14 feet
- safety conscious with a strong work ethic
Job Duties
- Clean and sanitize all washrooms daily including sinks, urinals, and toilets
- remove graffiti and gum from floors and surfaces
- dry and wet mop all floors in assigned areas
- vacuum or sweep and spot mop all classrooms
- empty garbage and recycling bins daily
- clean desks, ledges, windows, and vents regularly
- change light bulbs as needed
- sweep and mop hallways and stairwells daily
- clean water fountains and buff floors weekly
- assist other custodians in various areas as needed
- maintain cleanliness and organization of storage closets with proper stocking
- report any repairs or maintenance needs to supervisors
