Job Requirements

High school diploma or GED
6-12 months of custodial or janitorial experience
Ability to read, write, and understand work orders
Adaptable and flexible to adjust to different tasks, schedules, and work environments
Effective communication skills with supervisors and team members
Knowledge of safety precautions related to custodial equipment use

Job Duties

Perform general cleaning tasks according to the schedule, instructions, and team cleaning procedures including mopping, dusting, cleaning, disinfecting, and restocking supplies
Secure buildings and rooms as scheduled or after cleaning following proper unlocking, locking, key control, and access card protocols
Respond to and clean up after floods and other custodial emergencies
Maintain a professional appearance and deliver excellent customer service
Report security and maintenance issues in the facilities
Remove trash and restock supplies from warehouse to buildings
Work varying hours and overtime as needed to meet university needs
