Job Requirements
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including standing, walking, lifting heavy objects, operating medium weight cleaning equipment
- Ability to follow standard cleaning procedures and use cleaning chemicals and products safely
- Ability to read and understand labels and instructions for cleaning applications
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
- Must have team building, decision making, problem solving skills
- Effective verbal and listening communication skills
- Time management skills
- Knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System
Job Qualifications
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
Job Duties
- Cleans assigned facilities and/ or grounds maintaining a sanitary, safe and attractive environment
- Performs minor job related maintenance on custodial equipment, classroom furniture and fixtures
- Performs summer maintenance such as strip/wax floors, moves furniture, painting
- Prepares site for daily operations including opening gates, raising flags, sweeping walkways
- Replenishes classroom and restroom supplies ensuring adequate quantities for daily use
- Responds to immediate safety and/ or operational concerns such as facility damage, vandalism, alarms
- Assists in maintaining seasonal grounds work including snow removal
- Performs work at heights up to 12 feet using ladders and/ or scaffolding for cleaning, changing light bulbs, replacing ceiling tiles
- Secures facilities and grounds minimizing property damage and potential liability
- Supports district maintenance staff to complete site custodial activities
- Attends in-service training on topics like blood-borne pathogens, cleaning solvents, floor care, and first aid
- Performs other related duties as assigned
