Job Requirements
- valid Michigan driver's license with satisfactory driving record
- experience in the use and maintenance of building and cleaning equipment and tools desirable
- experience in the use of cleaning chemicals and solvents desirable
- previous institutional custodial experience desirable
- ability to work assigned shifts including evenings and weekends
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- previous custodial or janitorial experience desirable
- familiarity with cleaning chemicals and supplies
- ability to operate and maintain cleaning equipment
- basic maintenance skills
- strong attention to detail
- good physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor
Job Duties
- clean and maintain floors including sweeping mopping vacuuming stripping and waxing and shampooing carpets
- wash windows and walls
- clean and disinfect bathrooms including sinks toilets floors and other fixtures
- dust and polish furniture and fixtures
- perform miscellaneous maintenance duties such as changing light bulbs emptying trash hanging decorations and supplying paper towel and tissue dispensers
- pick up debris and litter on grounds
- remove snow and ice from stairs and entranceways to buildings during winter months
