Job Requirements
- one year of recent industrial custodial maintenance experience within the last three years
- possession of a valid driver’s license or ability to obtain by date of hire
- regular and reliable attendance
- ability to read and write appropriately
- ability to follow safety instructions
- ability to operate custodial equipment and supplies
- ability to use work order systems and communication devices
- knowledge and practice of safety requirements
- physical ability to perform regular physical activities such as walking, standing, and lifting over 50 pounds
- strong customer service and communication abilities
- tact and diplomacy in interpersonal interactions
- ability to foster communication and teamwork
- ability to maintain confidentiality
- good organizational skills
- technology proficiency including email and internet
- willingness to travel for training

Job Duties
- dust and clean surfaces including desks, shelves, and furniture using appropriate cleaning agents and tools
- remove trash and recyclables ensuring proper disposal and recycling protocols
- clean and disinfect restrooms including toilets, urinals, sinks, floors, mirrors, walls, and fixtures
- replenish restroom supplies as needed
- monitor and empty trash and recycle bins
- gather and deliver recyclables to central aggregation areas
- clean glass doors, windows, and blinds
- promptly remove graffiti using approved methods
- clean furniture and upholstery applying suitable cleaning products
- polish woodwork and metal surfaces
- clean stairwells, walkways, and elevators ensuring safety and cleanliness
- perform general housekeeping duties to uphold cleanliness standards
- organize and load/unload cleaning supplies and materials
- operate and maintain hand and power cleaning equipment safely
- sweep, mop, vacuum floors regularly
- strip, seal, wax, and polish floors using appropriate techniques
- spot clean and perform carpet cleaning
- respond promptly to custodial emergencies
- replace lamps in light fixtures
- arrange and set up furniture and equipment for events
- make minor repairs to equipment and furniture
- report facility repair needs
- participate in event set-up and clean-up including moving bleachers
- secure assigned areas by locking/unlocking doors and windows
