Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- ability to perform physical labor including lifting up to 50 pounds
- able to safely use cleaning chemicals and equipment
- ability to follow safety regulations
- possess or obtain a valid California driver’s license
- pass a background check including criminal records
- ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends
- ability to carry a Master key
- capacity to perform repetitive motions and extended periods of walking, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and pushing or pulling carts
- willingness to comply with mandated reporting requirements
- strong attendance record
Job Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of custodial methods, materials, and equipment
- ability to read and write at a level appropriate for the position
- ability to follow verbal and written safety instructions
- ability to operate custodial equipment and supplies
- experience with custodial work order systems and two-way radio communication
- ability to perform physical tasks and adhere to safe work practices
- ability to establish and maintain cooperative work relationships
- valid California driver's license preferred
- previous commercial custodial experience in an educational environment preferred
Job Duties
- Provide custodial duties in housing buildings
- clean and disinfect restrooms, sinks, fixtures, toilets, urinals, showers, and bathtubs
- replenish supplies
- clean dispensers, mirrors, walls, doors, glass, windows, blinds, and drains
- remove trash and debris
- remove decorations and flyers
- clean kitchens and appliances including stoves, ovens, refrigerators, microwaves, and dishwashers
- clean offices, breakrooms, hallways, conference rooms, and stairs
- dust and mop tile floors
- clean upholstery, furniture, desks, tables, chairs, cabinets, and counters
- sweep, scrub, mop, wax, buff, strip, and polish floors
- vacuum and spot clean carpets
- power wash and remove graffiti and gum
- perform minor maintenance and repairs
- change lights and clean equipment
- complete special projects including event setup and furniture moves
- complete laundry and linens
- use computer to complete work assignments, training, and leave requests
- perform other duties as assigned
