Job Requirements
- There are no minimum education or experience requirements
- ability to maintain security and integrity of organizational infrastructure
- ability to apply mathematical concepts such as measuring and mixing chemicals
- physical ability to perform work involving standing, stooping, lifting up to 50 pounds, and operating cleaning equipment
- willingness to work weekends and a 40-hour work week
- must be able to communicate effectively and report maintenance needs
- ability to work in environments with exposure to fumes and toxic chemicals
- security sensitive position
- must submit a minimum of two professional references as part of application
Job Qualifications
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- ability to read and understand labels on chemicals
- knowledge of cleaning methods and proper use of cleaning equipment
- ability to operate vacuum cleaner, floor waxer, floor buffer, and other cleaning equipment
- sufficient physical ability to stand, stoop, lift materials, and operate cleaning machinery
- knowledge of safety and security precautions appropriate to custodial work
Job Duties
- Communicate with custodial supervisors daily
- report inappropriate actions, injuries, safety, and related matters
- clean and sanitize floors and surfaces by sweeping, mopping, stripping, waxing, and buffing assigned areas including residence halls, dining areas, and other auxiliary buildings
- move furniture as needed for thorough cleaning
- remove trash and waste on a scheduled basis
- follow all standards provided by supervisory leadership and complete tasks within assigned time frames
- perform other duties as assigned by supervisory leadership or community director
