Job Requirements
- Possess a valid California driver’s license at time of appointment
- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 25 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Ability to climb ladders, stoop, kneel, reach, crouch, and crawl as needed
- Ability to work around undesirable odors and fumes
- Successfully complete a fingerprint and criminal background check
- Ability to work varying shifts including weekends, evenings, graveyards, and holidays
- Willingness to be registered as disaster services worker
- Ability to follow prescribed cleaning procedures and safety protocols
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred
- Knowledge of cleaning tools, equipment, and chemical solutions
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to operate custodial machinery and equipment safely
- Valid California driver’s license at time of appointment
Job Duties
- Performs a variety of custodial duties including sweeping, scrubbing, mopping and buffing floors, stairs, and hallways
- Vacuums and shampoos carpets
- Dusts, polishes and cleans tables and counters
- Cleans and sanitizes restroom facilities and replenishes restroom supplies
- Washes windows, mirrors, and walls
- Operates floor scrubber, carpet extractor, burnisher, vacuum, and other custodial equipment
- Empties, cleans, and sanitizes all trash receptacles
- Performs specialized restoration projects on floors, walls, ceilings, furniture, and other items
- Monitors inventory of custodial supplies
- Performs light grounds maintenance assignments
- Answers questions from employees and the public in a courteous manner
- May train new employees
- Works varying shifts including weekends, evenings, graveyards, and holidays
- Follows prescribed routine to maintain cleanliness and orderliness
