Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs and climbing ladders
- ability to work varying shifts including weekends, evenings, graveyards, and holidays
- valid California driver’s license at time of appointment
- ability to pass fingerprint and criminal history background check
- ability to work in conditions with undesirable odors and fumes
- willingness to follow safety and custodial protocols
- ability to maintain cooperative relationships and provide courteous service
- ability to move office furniture
- ability to train new employees
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred
- knowledge of cleaning methods and custodial procedures
- ability to operate custodial equipment
- ability to follow oral and written instructions
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
- courteous and professional communication skills
- ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs
- valid California driver’s license
Job Duties
- Perform custodial duties in keeping assigned facilities clean and orderly
- sweep, scrub, mop, and buff floors, stairs, and hallways
- vacuum and shampoo carpets
- dust, polish and clean tables and counters
- clean and sanitize restroom facilities and related fixtures
- replenish restroom supplies
- wash windows, mirrors, and walls
- operate floor scrubber, carpet extractor, burnisher, vacuum and other custodial equipment
- wash tables and chairs
- empty, clean, and sanitize all trash receptacles
- clean, sanitize and disinfect surfaces
- perform specialized restoration projects on floors, walls, ceilings, furniture, and other items
- monitor inventory of custodial supplies
- perform light grounds maintenance assignments
- answer questions from employees and the public in a courteous manner
- train new employees
- work varying shifts including weekends, evenings, graveyards, and holidays
