Job Requirements
- High school education or equivalent desired
- knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment preferred but not required
- must be able to lift 50 pounds and perform tasks requiring moderate physical strength
- must have ability to operate cleaning equipment
- ability to routinely bend, stretch, kneel, reach, climb stairs, and spend the majority of the day walking and standing
- applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening

Job Duties
- Ensures that all public areas of the museum are always kept neat and clean
- cleans restrooms and makes sure they are furnished with necessary supplies
- cleans walls, doors, windows and vents, including stainless steel and travertine surfaces
- cleans and maintains floors using dust mops, wet mops, vacuuming and floor cleaning machines
- removes trash from all museum areas and cleans up spills and broken glass
- follows safety data sheet (SDS) instructions
- works closely with other departments to assist in setting up special events and activities
- identifies and reports problems with building, equipment or supplies
- sanitizes and disinfects to maintain a clean, safe environment
- performs other duties as directed by supervisor
