Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- ability to safely and effectively operate standard facility custodial equipment
- ability to fulfill physical requirements including exerting heavy physical effort climbing balancing stooping kneeling crouching and crawling
- ability to lift carry push or pull moderately heavy objects and materials up to 30 pounds
- willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed
- ability to work in conditions of stress and function well under pressure
- strong command of written and spoken English
- appreciation and respect for Catholic Church and its teachings
- conduct consistent with and supportive of Church mission and purpose
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- previous experience demonstrating ability to safely and effectively operate standard facility custodial equipment
- ability to fulfill the physical requirements of the work
- strong command of both written and spoken English language
- ability to communicate listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
- ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing
- appreciation and respect for the Catholic Church and its teachings
- conduct consistent with and supportive of the mission and purpose of the Church
Job Duties
- performs custodial tasks ie emptying and cleaning waste receptacles washing windows dusting furniture cleaning vents fans and walls
- performs sanitizing tasks in various facility areas ie restrooms kitchen and food areas cafeterias
- performs physically demanding tasks requiring use of heavy custodial equipment ie mopping stripping waxing floor buffing cleans building floors by sweeping mopping scrubbing or vacuuming
- removes trash by emptying trash containers transports materials to disposal area recycles materials
- uses appropriate chemicals and cleaners safely and productively according to instructions and established State Department of Education regulatory to ensure personal student public and staff safety
- responds to emergency situations in order to confine resolve or prevent injurious or otherwise hazardous conditions ie spills broken windows broken locks
- requisitions supplies or equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties
- moves heavy furniture equipment or supplies either manually with assistance or by using hand trucks
- sets up arranges or removes decorations tables chairs ladders or scaffolding to prepare facilities for events such as banquets or meetings
