Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • ability to safely and effectively operate standard facility custodial equipment
  • ability to fulfill physical requirements including exerting heavy physical effort climbing balancing stooping kneeling crouching and crawling
  • ability to lift carry push or pull moderately heavy objects and materials up to 30 pounds
  • willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • ability to work in conditions of stress and function well under pressure
  • strong command of written and spoken English
  • appreciation and respect for Catholic Church and its teachings
  • conduct consistent with and supportive of Church mission and purpose

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • previous experience demonstrating ability to safely and effectively operate standard facility custodial equipment
  • ability to fulfill the physical requirements of the work
  • strong command of both written and spoken English language
  • ability to communicate listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
  • ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing
  • appreciation and respect for the Catholic Church and its teachings
  • conduct consistent with and supportive of the mission and purpose of the Church

Job Duties

  • performs custodial tasks ie emptying and cleaning waste receptacles washing windows dusting furniture cleaning vents fans and walls
  • performs sanitizing tasks in various facility areas ie restrooms kitchen and food areas cafeterias
  • performs physically demanding tasks requiring use of heavy custodial equipment ie mopping stripping waxing floor buffing cleans building floors by sweeping mopping scrubbing or vacuuming
  • removes trash by emptying trash containers transports materials to disposal area recycles materials
  • uses appropriate chemicals and cleaners safely and productively according to instructions and established State Department of Education regulatory to ensure personal student public and staff safety
  • responds to emergency situations in order to confine resolve or prevent injurious or otherwise hazardous conditions ie spills broken windows broken locks
  • requisitions supplies or equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties
  • moves heavy furniture equipment or supplies either manually with assistance or by using hand trucks
  • sets up arranges or removes decorations tables chairs ladders or scaffolding to prepare facilities for events such as banquets or meetings
