Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift and carry supplies, materials, and objects weighing up to 45 lbs independently and over 45 lbs with assistance
- Ability to perform heavy cleaning tasks safely
- Ability to operate heavy powered cleaning equipment and extension ladders
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions
- Availability to work full time with flexibility for changing schedules
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Must adhere to MCCS drug-free workplace policies
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must be registered with the Selective Service System or have an exemption
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in various environmental conditions
- Must complete National Agency Check and Inquiries (NACI) background screening
- Direct deposit of pay mandatory as a condition of employment
Job Qualifications
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects safely
- Ability to provide continual attention to avoid accidents and produce quality work
- Ability to use power cleaning equipment and perform minor equipment maintenance
- Knowledge of household and industrial cleaning agents and equipment
- Knowledge of hazardous material recognition and waste disposal procedures
- Ability to follow specific oral or written instructions and use judgment to meet sanitation and safety standards
- Experience in custodial or housekeeping work preferred
- Physical ability to perform moderately heavy physical effort including lifting up to 45 lbs independently
- Capability to work in physically demanding environments with prolonged standing and bending
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain cleanliness and safety standards
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Job Duties
- Perform custodial and housekeeping duties including operating heavy powered cleaning equipment and extension ladders
- Clean and disinfect restrooms, wash basins, mirrors, fixtures, and fittings
- Replenish soap, towels, and toilet paper daily and clean showcases, doors, activity spaces, and classrooms
- Set up and move furniture and equipment as needed and return them to original positions after cleaning
- Dust walls, furniture, shelves, fixtures, and counter surfaces
- Sweep, mop, scrub, wax, buff, polish floors and clean carpets
- Perform minor equipment repairs and report hazardous conditions and maintenance needs
- Clean adjacent outdoor areas including parking lots and play areas
- Operate and maintain power cleaning equipment and manage custodial supplies storage and inventory
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, fire, and program regulatory standards
- Provide world-class customer service emphasizing courtesy and positive communication
- Adhere to safety regulations and promptly report workplace hazards and injuries
