Job Duties
- Perform various housekeeping and heavy-duty cleaning throughout all hospital buildings and surrounding areas
- Maintain a pleasant and cooperative service attitude towards patients, families of patients, visitors, medical center staff, co-workers and management at all times
- Perform a 10 step cleaning process which includes knocking and greeting patient/family, emptying waste, high dusting, sanitizing, spot cleaning, restroom cleaning, dust mopping the floor, inspecting the room, damp mopping the floor and interacting with the patient/family
- Dust all above shoulder surfaces and ceiling vents/lights
- Damp wipe all ledges, furnishings, furniture, lights, shelves, light switches, telephones, door knobs, etc
- Spot clean walls, doors and windows/glass
- Clean and disinfect bathrooms/restrooms and restock disposable items
- Dust mop floors using a chemically treated mop
- Vacuum carpeted floors and upholstery
- Remove spots from carpet and damp mop floors using prescribed cleaning agents
- Report maintenance needs in various hospital areas
- Perform check-out/transfer cleaning including stripping, cleaning and remaking beds
- Remove all patient supplies and equipment and properly set up rooms
- Perform Between-Case-Cleaning and Terminal Cleaning in Labor & Delivery and Operating Room
- Inventory and distribute linen supplies and equipment
- Wash ceiling surfaces
- Clean elevators and stairwells
- Clean parking lots, garages, entrances and sweep sidewalks
- Wash interior windows
- Defrost and clean refrigerators
