Job Requirements
- Completion of a standard grade school course or equivalent combination of experience and training
- Valid driver’s license
- Availability to work beyond scheduled hours including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime
- Successful completion of a pre-employment physical
- Ability to lift over 50 pounds
- Willingness to work under emergency conditions as required
- Reliable attendance
- Ability to drive city-owned vehicles
- Pass any required background checks
- Commitment to drug-free workplace
Job Qualifications
- Completion of standard grade school or equivalent combination of experience and training
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to perform custodial duties in office or commercial settings
- Experience with cleaning commercial restrooms
- Customer service experience
- Knowledge of bloodborne pathogen and chemical safety procedures
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently
- Strong interpersonal skills
Job Duties
- Clean assigned areas satisfactorily each day
- Correct issues from inspection reports or supervisor feedback promptly
- Treat co-workers and supervisors with respect
- Drive city-owned vehicle to deliver supplies and lift over 50 pounds
- Vacuum and extract carpets with industrial equipment
- Clean, buff, strip, and wax various resilient floors
- Dust furniture, shelves, and woodwork with treated cloth
- Wash windows, sills, and blinds
- Empty trash and recycling materials to outside receptacles or dumpsters
- Clean restrooms with germicidal disinfectants
- Polish furniture and brass to a glossy finish
- Clean vents, light fixtures, and other high areas possibly using a ladder
- Open and unlock city buildings before working hours
- Set up and prepare meeting areas for events
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
