Job Requirements
- Complete a background investigation with favorable results
- Hold a real id driver's license required for employment and entry into JB Charleston AFB
- Be a U.S. Citizen, National, or owe allegiance to the U.S.
- Meet the 3-year residency requirement or have a signed memorandum if non-U.S. National
- Register for Selective Service if born after December 31, 1959 and applicable
- Agree to direct deposit for pay
- Successfully complete employment verification (E-Verify)
- Meet probationary period as required
- Pre-employment requirements must be met prior to Entrance on Duty
- No relocation expenses reimbursed

Job Qualifications
- Ability to follow simple oral and written instructions
- Ability to use hand or lightweight powered cleaning tools or equipment
- Ability to physically perform the full range of assigned duties
- No previous experience or training required to qualify
- Open to everyone including Military Spouse Preference and Veterans
- Must meet eligibility as listed in questionnaire
- Must provide proof of eligibility by closing date
- Some federal jobs may allow education substitution, but not this position
- Education completed in foreign colleges may be considered with proper equivalency documentation
Job Duties
- Clean lodging guest rooms, corridors, stairways, facilities, and other assigned lodging areas
- Sweep, dry mop, scrub, wax, and polish floors
- Use brooms, mops, lightweight vacuum cleaners, and lightweight floor scrubbers and buffers
- Dust, wax, and polish furniture
- Clean and sanitize guest room appliances, cooking utensils and dishes
- Empty wastebaskets
- Polish doorknobs, handles and other metal fixtures
- Wash walls, windows, and blinds that can be reached unassisted or using stepping stools
- Change bed linen and make beds
- Collect soiled linen and place it at a pickup point
- Receive clean linen and deliver it where directed
- Update room status, occupancy, and checkouts using the telephone system
- Clean, disinfect, and deodorize lavatories, urinals, and toilet bowls
- Clean mirrors, sinks, and water fountains
- Dust ledges, woodwork, and furniture
- Replace room deodorizers
- Restock toilet tissue, hand towels, soap, and other complimentary sundry items
- Note condition of facilities and report to supervisor broken windows, water leaks, clogged drains, and other conditions requiring maintenance
- Keep a stock of cleaning materials and equipment needed to do the work
- Notify supervisor when more materials are needed or when equipment needs repair or replacement
- Perform other related duties as assigned
