Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • clean classrooms, offices, halls, and other rooms
  • arrange furniture
  • sweep, scrub, mop, strip, wax, and polish floors
  • dust floors and ceilings
  • apply sealer to cement floors
  • vacuum, shampoo, and steam clean rugs and carpets
  • vacuum drapes
  • clean and properly maintain restrooms
  • empty and clean trash and garbage cans
  • clean chalkboards and chalk trays
  • dust and wash furniture, bookshelves, woodwork, fixtures, counters, and equipment
  • polish metal works, woodwork, and furniture
  • wash walls and windows
  • clean glass and mirrors
  • sweep concrete surfaces/walkways adjacent to school buildings
  • empty pencil sharpeners
  • clean lights and light fixtures
  • wash outside of buildings
  • participate in thorough cleaning of college plant and facilities during recess/vacation periods
  • maintain supplies
  • make minor repairs
  • move furniture and equipment
  • secure buildings
  • report safety hazards
  • operate a district vehicle
  • train and supervise student help
  • perform other related duties as assigned
