Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Sufficient physical strength and agility to carry out essential duties
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to perform tasks involving semi-reach to full-reach overhead, crouching, kneeling, carrying, working in narrow or confining spaces, twisting of waist, shoulders, and legs
  • Ability to stand on concrete floors for one hour at a time
  • Ability to use and tolerate safe cleaning chemicals
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions

Job Duties

  • Respond to members' and guests' requests and questions in a helpful, courteous manner or refer to another staff member
  • Collect, wash, fold and dispense towels to required locations
  • Perform custodial tasks to ensure locker rooms remain neat and clean, including collection of discarded towels and trash
  • Assist in keeping assigned areas clean, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash collection and specific upkeep and organization of fitness or residence areas
  • Maintain awareness of environment to report and respond to suspicious or inappropriate behavior, safety issues, and emergency situations
  • Attend required branch and in-service trainings
  • Assist other staff when necessary, such as emergency situations and community events
  • Perform other duties as required
