Job Requirements
- Completion of two years of college coursework or industry applicable certifications in custodial maintenance or trades
- Three years of increasingly responsible experience in custodial maintenance including one year in a supervisory or lead capacity
- Valid California driver’s license and appropriate automobile insurance when driving district vehicles
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and operating hand tools
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Ability to use computer programs and automated work order systems
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Job Qualifications

- Knowledge of policies, procedures, equipment, materials, and supplies related to custodial maintenance and campus events support
- Understanding of safety and health regulations related to custodial work
- Proficiency with computer applications and automated work order systems
- Knowledge of basic procurement principles
- Strong supervisory skills including work planning and staff training
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships
Job Duties
- Manage, plan, supervise and coordinate custodial operations and activities related to district custodial services
- Plan and administer district policies and procedures related to custodial maintenance and support for campus events
- Provide leadership and coordination for custodial care of all district buildings
- Utilize computerized work order systems to administer custodial needs
- Develop work schedules, schedule overtime, inspect work, and recommend improvements
- Assist in training, coordination, and scheduling of staff for recycling and energy conservation programs
- Establish and monitor supply and equipment inventories and test new custodial supplies
- Perform daily inspections of buildings and establish work priorities
- Plan and schedule long-range facility cleaning and maintenance programs
- Supervise, train, and evaluate custodial personnel and prepare evaluation reports
- Respond to emergency calls related to custodial maintenance and campus events
- Prepare reports, records, and correspondence related to custodial functions
- Maintain custodial warehouse and inventory
- Keep updated SDS records for custodial operations
- Attend meetings and participate on committees or task forces
- Perform other related duties as assigned
