Job Description

Job Requirements
- Six months of experience in custodial work preferred
- Ability to read and write at a level required for the job
- Ability to obtain valid Texas driver’s license within 90 days if not already held
- Ability to pass Fingerprint-Based Criminal History Records Check if required
- Ability to obtain CJIS Security Awareness Certificate if required
- Ability to work non-traditional hours including nights, weekends, or holidays
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Willingness to operate City or personal vehicle for work travel
- Ability to work under limited supervision
Job Qualifications
- Six months of experience in custodial work preferred
- Formal or informal education or training that ensures the ability to read and write
- Janitorial certification, training, or relevant certification preferred
- Valid Texas driver’s license or ability to obtain one within 90 days
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing
- Ability to establish cooperative working relationships
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays, or other non-traditional schedules

Job Duties
- Sweep and mop floors
- Vacuum
- Dust and clean offices and other work areas
- Collect and remove waste
- Clean and restock restrooms
- Strip and wax floors
- Move or lift furniture, boxes, and other materials
- Open and close the facility for use and secure the facility for closing
- Operate carpet extractor machine and buffers to polish floors
- Daily operate a City vehicle or personal vehicle to travel between City facilities to complete assigned work
- Perform other job related duties and responsibilities as assigned
