Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2 years experience with cleaning school environments or similar
  • familiar with SDS
  • understanding of basic cleaning equipment operation such as backpack vacuum, floor varnisher, microfiber cleaning systems
  • ability to work in teams
  • ability to respond to school emergencies such as classroom spills and lunchroom spills

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • two years experience with cleaning school environments or similar
  • familiarity with Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
  • understanding of basic cleaning equipment operation such as backpack vacuum, floor varnisher, microfiber cleaning systems
  • ability to work in teams
  • ability to respond to school emergencies such as spills

Job Duties

  • Assess all areas of the school and clean as necessary
  • prepare and stage cleaning supplies
  • maintain a supply of and account for cleaning supplies and equipment
  • comply with chemical handling laws and safety regulations
  • answer questions and interact professionally with school administration
  • clean and maintain building facilities including classrooms, break rooms, conference rooms, teacher work rooms, hallways, gymnasiums, lunchrooms, nurses' rooms, stages, lobby/receptionist areas
  • perform the necessary room set-ups for scheduled meetings and events including daily cafeteria set-up
  • sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors using cleaning solutions, tools, and equipment
  • clean and/or polish walls, ceilings, windows, door glass, and building fixtures
  • launder towels and mop heads
  • dust furniture, walls, light fixtures, baseboards, student desks and other equipment
  • gather and empty trash throughout the campus including exterior areas
  • clean and sanitize bathrooms daily
  • clean and service cleaning equipment daily and as needed
  • apply wax or sealers to wood or concrete floors as directed
  • assist in building security including locking and unlocking doors and gates
  • assist with routine maintenance tasks such as light bulb and filter changes
  • notify management of supply needs and major repairs
  • operate and maintain cleaning tools and equipment in accordance with safety standards
  • comply with HAZMAT regulations and Safety Data Sheets
  • perform other duties as assigned
