Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ten years of custodial and/or industrial cleaning experience
- Two years of supervisory experience
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds frequently and over 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to work at heights over 30 feet
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours per day
- Ability to bend, twist, reach, and kneel frequently
- Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Good attendance record
- Ability to operate in indoor and outdoor environments
- Ability to perform snow removal and emergency duties
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders
- Ability to work in confined spaces
Job Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Associate's or technical school degree preferred
- Ten years of custodial and/or industrial cleaning experience
- Two years of lead or direct supervisory experience
- Valid Driver's License
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques for bathrooms, various floor types, housing, and dormitories
- Understanding of furniture assembly and disassembly
- Ability to demonstrate proper judgment and professional behavior
- Strong initiative and attention to detail
- Ability to analyze situations and implement action plans
- Effective team player
- Willingness to perform departmental tasks
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to persuade and collaborate
- Ability to work variable schedules including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Satisfactory work record including good attendance
Job Duties
- Oversee and manage cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, glass, and other surfaces
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors, corridors, stairs, or archways
- Restock cleaning and paper supplies as needed
- Empty waste baskets, collect and dispose of rubbish and recycling
- Clean and disinfect all assigned areas
- Work with chemical cleaning agents daily
- Clean carpets and wax floors
- Move furniture and arrange chairs, tables, and other equipment as necessary
- Participate in set-up and break-down of furniture and equipment for events
- Support Custodial Department and Facilities Management staff
- Review work requests, plan jobs, and ensure safety compliance
- Supervise, train, schedule, coach, counsel, and evaluate personnel
- Maintain documentation including performance evaluations and timesheets
- Conduct performance reviews and manage time and attendance
- Perform additional duties such as snow removal and emergency work as needed
