Job Requirements

  • minimum of a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • three years of professional-level experience in facility operations or related area
  • two years of supervisory experience
  • bilingual in English and Spanish
  • current and valid class 'C' driver's license from the Texas Department of Public Safety
  • strong oral and written communication skills
  • ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a team environment

Job Qualifications

  • bachelor's degree in art/arts administration, public administration, event management, facilities management, or related field
  • master's degree in a related field preferred
  • associate's degree plus five years of relevant experience may substitute bachelor's degree
  • three years of progressively responsible professional experience in facility operations, venue management, or event operations
  • five years of experience preferred
  • two years of supervisory experience
  • bilingual in English and Spanish
  • excellent oral and written communication skills
  • strong attention to detail
  • ability to work effectively as a team member
  • dependability

Job Duties

  • oversee and manage day-to-day facility and venue operations for the Cultural Arts Division venues program
  • ensure all cultural venues are fully operational, safely maintained, and properly staffed
  • prepare venues to support rentals, programs, rehearsals, performances, meetings, and special events
  • enforce policies related to building use, safety, rentals, and asset protection
  • supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate venue staff
  • manage scheduling and resource coordination to avoid conflicts
  • collect and report monthly facility usage and rental revenue data
  • monitor budget performance and assist in identifying funding needs
  • serve as liaison between venue users and the city
  • resolve operational issues to ensure effective venue coverage
