Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • professional culinary training or relevant work experience in a fast-paced kitchen
  • prior experience in a supervisory role
  • food handler's certification or ability to obtain upon hiring
  • ability to operate kitchen equipment
  • ability to communicate effectively in English
  • flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods
  • commitment to excellent attendance
  • ability to work under pressure

Job Qualifications

  • Professional culinary training or experience in a fast-paced fine dining restaurant or catering facility
  • previous supervisory experience in a kitchen
  • knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation, and kitchen safety standards
  • ability to operate standard kitchen equipment including broiler, steamer, convection oven, mixer, meat slicer, and chef knife
  • strong communication skills with employees, coworkers, management, and guests
  • proficiency in spoken, written, and reading English
  • ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
  • ability to work efficiently under pressure
  • strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods in a physically demanding environment
  • food handler's certification or ability to obtain upon hiring

Job Duties

  • Coordinate and supervise the work of kitchen staff
  • teach proper culinary preparation and food presentation techniques
  • assist in controlling food and labor costs
  • conduct regular cleanliness and maintenance inspections
  • assist with monthly inventory
  • provide high-quality fresh food products timely
  • prepare hot and cold foods according to recipes and portioning requirements
  • participate as a team player focusing on preparation, service, and delivery
  • report maintenance needs for kitchen equipment
  • maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards
  • observe and test foods to ensure proper cooking
  • portion, arrange, and garnish food plates
  • consult with Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef to plan menus and estimate food consumption
  • maintain excellent attendance and availability for scheduled events
