Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum 4 years culinary experience
  • ability to stand for long periods
  • ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • prior hotel experience preferred
  • basic computer skills
  • strong communication skills
  • willingness to assume department responsibilities when necessary

Job Qualifications

  • culinary education and/or on the job training preferred
  • at least 4 years of previous culinary experience
  • hotel experience preferred
  • capable of performing all basic cooking skills
  • able to produce consistent product in a timely manner
  • strong leadership and communication skills

Job Duties

  • basic understanding of a kitchen operation within the hotel
  • responsible for producing a consistent, quality product that meets and exceeds the guests' needs in a timely manner
  • capable of department training and assuming responsibilities in the absence of the Sous Chef
  • assist in monitoring payroll costs and overtime
  • supervise hourly cooks
  • demonstrate Hyatt values of empathy, integrity, respect, inclusion, experimentation, and wellbeing
  • maintain basic cost control, communication, leadership and computer skills
