The position of Culinary Supervisor is a pivotal role within the Orange County Fair & Event Center (OCFEC), an esteemed organization known for hosting one of the region's premier annual fairs. Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of culinary arts or related field
- Experience supervising staff in a team environment
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work irregular business hours including weekends
- Available to work part-time from January to June and full-time mid-June to September
- Must be able to work the full duration of the OC Fair
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Experience with customer service
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects
Job Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Knowledge of Culinary Arts or a related field
- Experience supervising employees effectively in a team setting
- Experience with public speaking
- Experience working with diverse individuals and groups
- Excellent organization and customer service skills
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet
- Ability to work outside normal business hours
- Availability from January through December with increased hours May through August
- Must be able to work the 23 days of the annual OC Fair
- High school diploma or equivalent
Job Duties
- Coordinate and lead the Culinary program for the OC Fair and Event Center including hiring, training and overseeing 122-day staff
- Secure and coordinate all aspects of judging, demonstrators and exhibits for the Culinary program and competitive contests according to rules
- Create and prepare paperwork for logistics needs and post-event evaluations and reports
- Act as a liaison and outreach to the Culinary community to encourage participation
- Collaborate with Communications and Marketing to promote Culinary programs and competitions
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with the public and community partners
- Manage department budget and assist in future budget preparation
- Interact professionally with exhibitors and the public to provide excellent customer service
- Collaborate with Exhibits and Education supervisors to ensure consistency in timelines and project execution
- Evaluate and recommend improvements for the Culinary Program
