Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • One to two years supervisory experience preferred
  • Nutrition coursework or sanitation certification desirable
  • Ability to supervise food preparation activities
  • Knowledge of food service and sanitation procedures
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prepare simple reports and keep records
  • Willingness to work full time rotating shifts including weekends
  • Exempt employment status

Job Duties

  • Supervise food preparation activities for patients, visitors, and staff
  • Maintain quality control by testing food temperature, taste, portioning, and appearance
  • Schedule employees within budgeted labor hours
  • Handle routine and minor problems within area of responsibility
  • Prepare simple reports such as incident and attendance reports
  • Perform arithmetic calculations and keep accurate records
  • Lead and support food service employees maintaining effective communication and cooperation
