Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a culinary supervisory position
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to lead a team effectively
  • Knowledge of sanitation and safety standards
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Good physical stamina

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within a professional kitchen
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and presentation standards
  • Ability to maintain quality and cost standards consistently
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations
  • Ability to work collaboratively with front-of-house management
  • Creativity in food utilization and waste reduction
  • High level of organizational skills

Job Duties

  • Prepares and directly supervises kitchen staff responsible for the daily preparation of all food items
  • Checks mise en place before service time and inspects presentation of food items to ensure that quality standards are met
  • Consistently maintains standards of quality, cost, eye appeal and flavor of food
  • Coordinates food service involving communication between kitchen and service staff
  • Attends all shift meetings
  • Personally works in any station as assigned by the Executive Chef
  • Finds creative ways to utilize food scraps, items from freezer and main kitchen
  • Supervises kitchen personnel, to assure highest productivity and professional conduct
  • Maintains highest level of sanitation standards at all times
  • Adheres to state and local health and safety regulations
  • Ensures that all work areas are safe and secure
  • reports any unsafe conditions to supervisor
