Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor’s Degree, certifications, or coursework in Culinary Service Arts, Hospitality, or related field strongly preferred
- Minimum of 5 years previous experience working as an executive chef
- Must be ServSafe certified
- Previous experience working with seniors strongly preferred
- Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Experience working with a Point-of-Sale system preferred
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task
- Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed, sharing Manager on Duty responsibilities
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher preferred
- Culinary Service Arts or Hospitality certifications
- Minimum 5 years of executive chef experience
- ServSafe certification
- Experience with senior populations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and POS systems
- Strong leadership and training skills
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to maintain department budget and inventory
- Knowledge of assisted living food service regulations and standards
Job Duties
- Maintain a regular cooking schedule to ensure high quality cuisine to the residents
- Ensure compliance with applicable assisted living regulations, ServSafe program, and local health department regulations
- Ensure Singh standards are in place adhering to proper menus, therapeutic diets, correct portioning of foods, and high quality service
- Oversee the café operation and catering events throughout the community
- Review and update the Resident Diet Notification binder and Point-of-Sale system, educating culinary associates on resident needs
- Oversee hiring, training, supervision, payroll, scheduling, and evaluation of the culinary department
- Adhere to product ordering guide and vendor usage, maintaining adequate inventory of food and supplies
- Ensure resident satisfaction through communication with residents, families, and culinary associates
- Collaborate with the Marketing and Life Enrichment team in event preparation
- Adhere to departmental budgets for food, supplies, and labor
- Provide reports such as inventory reports, temperature logs, and associate schedules
- Ensure clean, sanitized, and maintained dining room and kitchen areas
- Assist with other duties as assigned by the Executive Director
